About 7000 inhabitants ,'Porte de la Provence' by the River Durance, at the foot of the Alps Mountains (half way between the ski resorts and the beaches of the Mediterranee).Northern limit of the mediterraneen climate and vegetation (the last olive trees).
Lives on sheep breeding, goat and sheep cheese, fruit growing, tourism and an important chemical factory.
